Compagnia Teatro Dimitri

History

In the summer of 1977, the director of the Berlin Festival Weeks approached Dimitri with a request to create a piece for the 1978 festival on the theme of circus. All graduates of the final class of the 1st year of the Scuola Teatro Dimitri were involved in the play "Il clown è morto, evviva il clown". On July 6, 1978, the premiere took place in Verscio. In October, the troupe performed in Berlin. The success was great, an international tour was organized, and the Compagnia was born.
